The Care Commission

The Care Commission regulates all adult, child and independent healthcare services in Scotland. February 2007 saw the staging of the Care Commission Forum: 'Is the Quality of Care in Scotland Improving?' Over 100 people attended the event, which saw the launch of a report on the quality of care services in Scotland. The program included presentations from Jacquie Roberts, Chief Executive of the Care Commission, Convener Frank Clark, and Liz Norton, Director of Adult Services Regulation, as well as a range of topical workshops.

Electronic Audience Response was used though out the day to gauge opinion on what the Care Commissions priorities should be and where the delegates wanted to see progress made. A series of prioritised questions gave the Care Commission clear indicators for the direction for their continued development. All results where displayed instantly to the audience to allow further discussion. The results where also 'filtered' to see if the opinion differed between defined groups. At the end of the event a series of questions completed the event evaluation in a matter of minutes.

Post event reporting was made available on the Care Commission web site giving a full event summary which made extensive reference to the Electronic Audience Response as well as making available the full list of results. The event was so successful that it was later staged again to near double the audience size!
